Graduate Fashion Week 2025 marked another exceptional year for , with our students achieving remarkable recognition on one of the industry’s most prestigious stages. Eight students received an impressive 14 nominations across 12 award categories, an extraordinary accomplishment considering the competition included more than 70 institutions and approximately 3,000 students from across the UK and beyond.
Among the standout achievements, Safiya Shakirova was awarded the prestigious Culture & Heritage Design Award for her collection, which beautifully celebrated and reinterpreted her Kazakh heritage through contemporary fashion design.





Reflecting on her success, Safiya said:
“I was truly honoured to take part in the Culture & Heritage competition, as it provided a wonderful opportunity to present my ideas and creative vision. I am incredibly grateful for such a meaningful beginning to my journey as an emerging designer, and I believe this is only the start of many exciting things to come.
I will deeply miss my time at , where I received unwavering support from my tutors and lecturers. Their guidance and encouragement have meant so much to me, and I will always carry these memories with gratitude.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to and to everyone who contributed to bringing my collection to life. Your support, kindness, and belief in my work made this journey truly unforgettable.”
Rebecca Ogunribido was selected as a finalist in the Collective Catwalk Show, earning the opportunity to present her collection at the Graduate Fashion Week Gala. This prestigious platform enabled Rebecca to engage directly with an industry panel, discussing the inspiration and development behind her work. Her collection was showcased three times throughout the day and featured prominently at the closing industry event, providing exceptional visibility among leading fashion professionals.





Further recognition came for Margarida dos Santos, Kristine Gailuma and Ava Smith, who were selected to exhibit their Final Major Projects on the highly regarded Inprint stand throughout the event. Kristine’s achievements were further celebrated through her nomination for the Photography Award, highlighting the breadth of creative excellence emerging from .
Our students consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, confidence and ambition during the award interviews and networking opportunities. Their outstanding presentation skills and creative vision led to a number of exciting internship offers, industry introductions and collaborative opportunities, providing invaluable foundations as they begin to build their professional networks and careers.

The response from industry professionals was overwhelmingly positive with praise given to the consistently high standard of work, the exceptional craftsmanship, technical expertise, professionalism and refined execution demonstrated across the cohort. Particular emphasis was placed on the creativity, innovation and ambition evident throughout student projects across both our BA (Hons) Fashion and BA (Hons) Fashion Branding & Creative Communication degree programmes.


Students also participated in a networking event held at The Hoxton, Shoreditch, following the Collective Catwalk Show. Design directors, recruiters and industry professionals joined us to review our students’ portfolios and discuss their career aspirations. These conversations resulted in valuable one-to-one meetings and informal interviews for junior opportunities with globally recognised brands including Joseph, AllSaints, Leapfrog AI, Calvin Klein and Lululemon.
Encouragingly, several students will continue conversations with industry mentors beyond Graduate Fashion Week, fostering meaningful relationships that will support their continued growth, confidence and professional development as they embark on the next chapter of their careers.
